Your support of the Kenora Public Library and its services helps
to provide a resource that benefits our community as a
You can support your library in a number of ways:
Donations can be made to a Kenora Public Library Endowment Fund set up with the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation. This fund was possible through a $25,000 legacy provided by the late Roy Carl Lindstrom being matched by an anonymous donor. The endowment will provide the Library with funding in future years. Cash donations made directly to the library are always welcome. A tax receipt is automatically issued for all donations of $10 or more.
In Memoriam Donations
In memoriam donations can be made to the library to mark and honour a friend or loved ones passing. Be sure to make a note of who you would like to have an acknowledgement of the gift to. A tax receipt is issued to the donor.
Memorial and Honourary Gifts
Donations can also be made to recognize a special person with a memorial or honourary gift to the Library. You can make a donation in the name of a friend or loved one on a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, retirement, or other accomplishment. The individual being honoured receives a letter of recognition marking the gift and the occasion, with an acknowledgement of your donation. A tax receipt is issued to the donor.
By providing a bequest to the Kenora Public Library in your will, you help ensure that the tradition of library service is safeguarded for the future and passed on to the next generation.
Buy A Book (or Magazine)
Buy a book campaign: If you want the library to have a specific book, you can make a special request and pay the library for it. When it comes in you'll be the first one on the list to borrow and read it, and a plaque acknowledging your donation will be applied inside the cover of the book.
Adopting a magazine allows you to donate the cost of a new periodical title to help us to increase and maintain the size of the Library's magazine collection.
Supporting fund raising initiatives
Donations of home-baked cookies, or single serving fruit juices are accepted for the Kenora Branch Library's after school program for local children. Please note that we cannot accept cookies/snacks containing nuts. Donations can be dropped off at the library at any time.
Funds raised through the sale of coffee, hot chocolate, and chocolate bars help to support the library. We also have cookbooks, address/ID folders, USB flash drives, and sturdy canvas book bags for sale at the library desk.
